How often do we find ourselves fighting for or against something or someone?
Even if we don't do this consciously, most of us do it unconsciously.
The habit stems from early childhood when we were too little to have control over our lives. We would ask for what we wanted. Then if we didn't get it, we'd try manipulation, tantrums, and of course fighting with our words or even our bodies.
As adults, that subconscious pattern persists whenever we feel like we're struggling or fighting (both for and against things). Perhaps fighting against a source of oppression, or fighting on behalf of a person who can't fight for himself or herself.
It doesn't always show up as fighting, but the energy is usually one of resistance against "what is." There's challenge, strife, and the feeling of struggle.
Perhaps it's as simple as posting a snarky comment on Facebook about a political or social cause that we are passionate about. Maybe it's more complex like a legal dispute or the difficult nuances of a personal relationship conflict.
Whatever it is, whenever we feel a sense of life struggle or tension in relation to something that isn't the way we want it to be in the world, we're identifying with a sense of "fighting." The thing is, fighting doesn't bring us closer to our goals. It separates us from them.
In that spirit, here's some inspiration to help us shift our energy and focus on the results we want (instead of negatively dwelling on the challenges we're facing)...
